MACRO ABSTRACT, Bannack

Bannack is has many great little details. Here I show off some of them.

This was a rusty nail in the side of a fence protecting a grave stone. I liked the focus in this photo. I also color corrected to make it feel more old.

Nail the Coffin, f/5.6, 1/125 sec., ISO-400, 87 mm, 60D

This photo was taken in an old house in Bannack. I liked the pealing paint as well as the green fabric that was used as a makeshift wallpaper. I bumped up the colors as well as sharpened the image well beyond what I usually do.

REVERSE SHALLOW DEPTH, BANNACK

For this post we played around with focus. Notice in most of these photos that there is focus on one thing wile a large part of the photo is blurred.

I like how this photo makes you tense up. You better act fast!

ACTION BLUR & FREEZE, BANNACK

For this post we needed to make sure that we could blur action and also know how to freeze it.

I wish I could have had more time on this one, but we will have to just be happy with what I got.

For this assignment I garbed my sister and wife and snagged some photos. I had fun playing around with different lighting environments. I also was going for a bit of a retro nostalgic look. They both have greenish eyes so I wanted to pump up the greens to pop their eyes but I just kept some of the other details to make it feel as if I shot it on film.

Camera RAW

For this next post I took JPEG images and loaded them in Photoshop using Camera RAW. I was able to push around the image a lot to get some great images here. I hope you enjoy.

Fall is in full bloom here in Eastern Idaho. I traveled before the sun was out of bed on a brisk Tuesday morning in hopes of getting these bright colors with a sunrise. But the sky was overcast so I was not able to get that great shot I was looking for but I am very happy with the way these have turned out. We are use to getting a lot of yellows here in the Fall but it was really nice this year to get a lot more red then we are accustom to.
