In these next images, we were given the task of taking images with which we could practice what is called flexible edits. Basically within Photoshop you use adjustment layers so you can go in later and make changes to the images after you have done some editing. Hope you all enjoy!
Dramatic Old House – Edit
On this photo, I set the expose for the sky knowing that was the most detail I wanted to preserve. When you look at the original below, you will see that you can barely make out the old house and wheat. So in order to pull it out, I added a levels mask in Photoshop, set it to Lighten then I painted out the bottom half of the image.

As you can see–the edit helps you pull more out of the image and helps you see things in a very different way.
Apple Tart Pendls Pastries – Edit
It seems I like to include food in my posts, but when I come across great places, I just have to share them. For this edit, I added a smart filter again and then told the adjustment layer to burn. Then I painted out where the image is focused.
